Are you 16 years plus and ready to get some training that will line you up for a career in carpentry/building? Builders are in huge demand. The Taumarunui trade kura in has a new, free course for rangatahi starting soon, with free transport from Raetihi. The first group of six rangatahi from Raetihi 18 months ago got hands-on training and experience when they worked on the Piriaka wharepuni, Matua Kore. Trade school tutors said: “Working on a renovation job is a lot trickier than a new build – we are proud of the work ethic the boys demonstrated throughout the build as well as assisting to accelerate the project end date.” Check out these photos of our Raetihi rangatahi on the job.

Call Janet Te Ahuru on 021 1901 462 to enrol or if you have any questions – she is also available to meet anytime with potential new students and their parents.
